PLEDGES FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT IN 2016: If you have submitted a pledge for financial support of the ministry God has called St. John’s to in 2016, thank you. If you would like to give a pledge, there is still time to submit one. There are pledge forms on the table at the back of the church. The Vestry is focused on preparing a budget for 2016. Your financial pledge helps the Vestry decide on a budget that is reasonable and responsible.

HOLIDAY FAIR: Thank ou to all who helped make the 2015 Holiday Fair a success!

THE GIVING TREE: The Giving Tree with gift request tags is in the Church Library. If you would like to help a needy family in Walpole with a Christmas gift, please take a tag, and sign up on the tag sheet. Wrap the gift (a gift receipt is helpful; include in the package) and put the tag securely on the outside of the package. Gifts need to be returned to St. John’s by Sunday, Dec. 6. The tree moves to the Walpole Town Library on November 23rd.

WALPOLE ART AFTER SCHOOL BENEFIT EVENT: Come out on Thursday, December 3, 7-9 p.m., or Saturday, December 5, 9:30-11:30 a.m. and discover some holiday creativity! Racheal Scott and Susan Kershaw will be teaching a method to create beautiful glass ornaments and intriguing brooches using alcohol inks. Each participant will have an opportunity to make multiple pieces. All materials supplied and refreshments will be served. The event costs $50 on Dec 3, and $50 per adult plus $10 per child on Dec 5. All the proceeds from these events go to support Walpole Art After School in 2016.

WINTER SHELTER MEALS: The Winter Shelter in North Walpole will be opening on November 15th. St. John’s has committed to providing two meals per month. Charlie Montgomery is coordinating the meal schedule. Please speak to Charlie today if you would like to provide a meal for 10 people (entree, salad, bread, and dessert), would like to partner with someone else to provide a meal, or cannot cook but would like to contribute funds to purchase ingredients that someone else will prepare.

EPISCOPAL Q&A: Meets during coffee hour. We will focus on Episcopal beliefs, identity and practice. It is helpful to read Episcopal Questions, Episcopal Answers by Ian S. Markham & C.K. Robertson (Morehouse Publishing). Do you have a question? All questions welcome! You might know the answer to someone else’s question. Please join in.

MITTENS & HATS: It is time to collect mittens and hats for the Walpole Primary School. We’re collecting new hats, mittens, or gloves, either store-bought or handmade, in colors and sizes appropriate for children. A box for donations is in the church library. We do this every year in memory of Jean Aldrich, carrying on her mission to keep the children warm.

NIBBLE & NATTER: All are welcome to this unique fellowship group which features snacks, friendship and laughter, each Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

NEXT VESTRY MEETING: The Vestry meets on Wednesday, December 9, 6:30 p.m. Minutes from each meeting are posted on the Parish Hall bulletin board and are also available by request by contacting Clerk Andrew Wilking. Anyone is welcome to attend a Vestry meeting.
